Sachin Suresh is the CEO and director at Suraj Group. Prior to joining Suraj Group,
Sachin spent over 8 years based in Australia, and the US holding various roles in
different industries.
He has completed a 5-year co-op degree in Bachelor of Science with Honors from
Northeastern University, Boston, with a duel major in Information Systems and Finance
and a minor in Economics. During which, he had a brief exposure to the manufacturing
sector while working with Phenoseal Inc, where he was part of a team which restructured
the company to be more efficient and agile.
He then moved on to his core competence of finance and investment banking and joined
Manulife/John Hancock, where he was a fund analyst.
Eventually, his passion for building brought him back to India, where he got his first
exposure to property development. Thereafter, his urge to have a long-term vision with
wider exposure to world markets took him to Australia, where he pursued his Master of
Business Administration (M.B.A) from Melbourne Business School (Mt. Eliza Executive
Education, University of Melbourne). Thereon, he briefly worked with Goodman Fielder,
where he critically analyzed and restructured logistics and product placements.
Finally, he returned to India, to join his family firm, where he has spent the last six years
growing the business by leaps and bounds with ongoing projects spread over a wide array
of infrastructure projects such as residential apartments, villas & row housing, IT/ITeS
parks, office buildings, high street retail, malls and multiplexes etc.
To gain further insight into corporate strategies in the next gen companies specifically in
India, Sachin took up the Management Program for Entrepreneurs and Family Business
(MPEFB) at Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore (IIMB). This helped in
strengthening the foundation and enhancing the skill sets for the envisaged growth of the
company.
He has effectively acquired various skills from his global exposure across various
industries and adapted them to bring in change at various levels to create a more efficient
business house.
